I have just returned from Cable Beach, Marbella.

Moraga barbacue

A moraga is a traditional night party usually held on the beach, typical of the coast of the province of Malaga and other parts of the Mediterranean coast of Andalusia,1 in Spain.

The festival has evolved throughout history. In the nineteenth century, it was held after the collection of the net thrown at shallow depth, eating the fish caught on the beach, the evening was accompanied by guitar music and other entertainment, as can be seen in the painting of the painter Horacio Lengo (1838 – 1890). Nowadays, the moragas are still celebrated, but without the pretext of fishing, but as a simple recreational day, where sardines or other types of fish, such as horse mackerel, are roasted over an open fire.
